Weigh-in
I would like to start
off by thanking all the anglers that made the Lewis Boat Sales &
Service October Bass Tournament a huge success! We ended up with a
total of 29 teams competing for the prize money come Saturday morning
at take-off. This was our first ever Fall tournament and with the
other events being held around the lake we had a pretty good draw and
look forward to increasing that come next year. Through all the
sponsors of the tournament that Greg got to contribute attendances
prizes:

Everyone that attended
walked away with something. Most of the teams walked away with their
hands full of the products provided by our sponsors. This is a
well-ran and family oriented team/buddy format tournament with a great
payout and oustanding attendance prizes. This year with only 29 boats
competing the 1st Place winners received a check for $1400!
As our spring and fall tournaments continue to grow, this payout and
the attendances prizes will only get better.
At the weigh-in everyone
was also treated to food and drinks as the fish came to the weigh-in
scales. Bratwurst, from Browns Smoke House in Winfield Missouri, along
with soda and water was the main dish served at the weigh-in. After a
hard day of fishing nothing is better than a bite to eat and a drink
as the fish are being weighed!
Overall fishing turned
out to be pretty tough on Saturday with only 1 five bass limit being
brought to the scales and 27 fish caught total. Reports throughout the
week were that the fish were not in any one particular area of the
lake or of the coves. Some were coming from the backs of the coves,
others from the main lake and the bays, and some off of the secondary
points inside the coves. Catching those fish varied greatly also, as
was reported to me. Some fish were coming on crankbaits, Plastics,
Jigs, and topwater baits around the docks and in a wide range of
depths.

1st
Place and 2nd Big Bass Winners Lou Grabow and Mike Evanoff
Taking 1st
place was the team of Lou Grabow from Ballwin Missouri and Mike
Evanoff from Granite City Illinois.
They were able to scratch out the only 5-fish limit of the tournament
that weighed 11.01Lbs. Their bag was also anchored by the 2nd
Big Bass of the day that weighed 3.10Lbs. Lou and Mike reported
catching their fish on crankbaits and E-Factor Lure Jigs (www.e-factorlures.com)
concentrating on docks from 4-12 feet of water. They also admitted to
a tough day of fishing and having to “run-and-gun” all day to manage
their 5-fish limit. Grabow and Evanoff took home a check for $1400 for
their 1st Place finish and another $80 for 2nd
Big Bass. Lou is sponsored by 7/24 Outdoors and E-Factor LuresMike is
sponsored by E-Factor Lures and 7/24 Outdoors.

2nd
Place and 1st Big Bass Winners Tony & Jason Pavia
2nd place
went to the team of Tony and Jason Pavia from Montgomery City Missouri
with 3-fish that weighed 10.08Lbs. The Big Bass of the tournament that
weighed 5.01Lbs also anchored their bag of 3-fish. Tony and Jason took
home $425 for 2nd Place and another $200 for Big Bass.

3rd
Place Winners Kent Johnson & Paul Stuthers
3rd place
went to the team of Kent Johnson and Paul Stuthers from St. Claire
Missouri with a weight of 8.02Lbs. Kent and Paul took home a check for
$180.
